Sam Cockings talks about his fan film.

Co-host of the web series Trekyards, which focuses on the ships of Star Trek, Sam Cockings loves to share his passion for the franchise. This extends beyond deep dives into vessels to actually bringing new Trek stories to life through fan films. It’s an incredible creative release for some of the most diehard fans, but one that is not without pitfalls.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson is joined by Sam to learn what happened when his previous film project went head to head with CBS. We also discuss his latest venture, Convergence, and how it enters the realm of crossovers by gathering actors from multiple past productions to save the universe from total annihilation. The storyline is incredibly exciting and sure to please the most ardent Star Trek fan.

This is part two of a two-part interview with Sam, the first part of which can be found on Continuing Mission 44.

Ray Tesi talks Stage Nine Studios.

In 2017, Ray Tesi began production on a Star Trek fan film entitled Starship Republic. That project is still in the works, and hopefully will be released in the not-too-distant future. Making fan films is a passion for Tesi, and that has led him to take a giant leap of faith with the acquisition of his very own production space: Stage Nine Studios in Kingsland, Georgia. If that location sounds familiar, it’s because Star Trek Continues filmed there. Tesi struck a deal with Vic Mignogna and purchased the former home of Star Trek Continues, complete with standing sets and lighting rigs.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson is joined by Tesi to talk about Stage Nine Studios, how he came to be own these well-known sets, and why having a fully outfitted studio is a dream come true for this truly avid Star trek fan.

Seth Stewart’s TOS Recuts.

A tenacious and dedicated Star Trek fan, Seth Daniel Stewart desires to keep Star Trek alive by bringing The Original Series to fans in a unique way. This has led him to develop his own take on Trek’s 1960s origins, editing the original episodes into a collection of very short—but nonetheless easily recognizable—stories. In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson talks to Seth about why he has chosen to do this and what the future may hold.

Chris Allen Talks Star Trek vs Star Trek.

Chris Allen is a very talented filmmaker who, in 2006, brought us the hilarious “Star Trek vs Batman," a film parody like no other. It was possibly ahead of its time when it introduced the ever-popular crossover idea, whereby the crew of the Enterprise gets into a conflict with the unlikeliest of villains from another sci-fi franchise.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson talks to Allen about his latest venture, a new Star Trek parody that finds our beloved Captain Kirk pitting his wits against Trek captains in a ludicrous plot to save a beautiful damsel in distress from a mysterious alien.
