Sam Cockings talks about his fan film.

Co-host of the web series Trekyards, which focuses on the ships of Star Trek, Sam Cockings loves to share his passion for the franchise. This extends beyond deep dives into vessels to actually bringing new Trek stories to life through fan films. It’s an incredible creative release for some of the most diehard fans, but one that is not without pitfalls.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson is joined by Sam to learn what happened when his previous film project went head to head with CBS. We also discuss his latest venture, Convergence, and how it enters the realm of crossovers by gathering actors from multiple past productions to save the universe from total annihilation. The storyline is incredibly exciting and sure to please the most ardent Star Trek fan.

This is part two of a two-part interview with Sam, the first part of which can be found on Continuing Mission 44.

Mike Schmidt Talks Renegades.

While visiting Alberta, Canada, for the 2018 Vul-con—an annual Star Trek convention hosted by the city of Vulcan—Trek.fm roving reporter Brandon-Shea Mutala of Melodic Treks met up with a specially trained hitman by the name of Mike. But don't be alarmed; Brandon is fine. As for Mike, he landed a role in the series Renegades (formerly Star Trek: Renegades) playing a hitman in a crucial scene in the second episode of this adventure featuring many familiar faces from Star Trek.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, guest host Brandon-Shea Mutala chats with Schmidt about his role in Renegades and how the opportunity came about. His adventures offer great encouragement to others wishing to take part in Star Trek fan films.

Ray Tesi talks Stage Nine Studios.

In 2017, Ray Tesi began production on a Star Trek fan film entitled Starship Republic. That project is still in the works, and hopefully will be released in the not-too-distant future. Making fan films is a passion for Tesi, and that has led him to take a giant leap of faith with the acquisition of his very own production space: Stage Nine Studios in Kingsland, Georgia. If that location sounds familiar, it’s because Star Trek Continues filmed there. Tesi struck a deal with Vic Mignogna and purchased the former home of Star Trek Continues, complete with standing sets and lighting rigs.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson is joined by Tesi to talk about Stage Nine Studios, how he came to be own these well-known sets, and why having a fully outfitted studio is a dream come true for this truly avid Star trek fan.

Since 2009, Mark Naccarato has created, filmed, and financed his Star Trek fan film The Romulan War. Now it is almost complete, and he needs the help of fans to cross the finish line.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, host Tony Robinson talks with Mark about The Romulan War and how he plans to finish production. For Star Trek fans who are serious about keeping fan films alive, this is a must-listen episode.

Gary O’Brien Talks The Holy Core.

In 2017, filmmaker Gary O’Brien released his first Star Trek fan film, Chance Encounter. It was well received and has been viewed more than 50,000 times. Gary lives and works in Oxfordshire, England, and is part of a growing band of British filmmakers creating new and exciting Star Trek stories. However, all is not what it seems.

In this episode of Continuing Mission, Gary chats with host Tony Robinson about The Holy Core, what he has learned since Chance Encounter, and tells us about the Kickstarter campaign designed to support the new project.
